If a young man grows up in a home without a father figure present, who is going to teach him to become a positive and productive male member of society?

This is our driving question at Forerunner Mentoring. And since 2011, everything we have done has been dedicated to realizing the answer.

We believe consistent mentor relationships, focused after school programs, and supporting single moms will enable our boys to not only graduate high school, but fulfill their God-given potential in life beyond school.

One to One Mentoring

We believe every boy in Lake Highlands should have a mentor who can show them how to become a man and follow God passionately.

  • God can transform a child's story through a relationship with a godly father-figure.

  • Our mentors commit to showing up, speaking truth, and loving God.

After School Programs

We provide a safe, engaging, and effective After School Programs for boys K-8th.

  • Our literacy curriculum increases our boy’s reading proficiency, one of the main factors that determines if a student will graduate High School

  • Our grade coaches and tutors ensure our boys understand and complete their homework before they get home

Supporting Families

We believe the most important influence in our boy’s lives is their family. We honor parent/guardians for the sacrifices they have made to raise their children. It is our privilege to connect them to relationships and resources in our great community.

This includes:

  • Hosting quarterly family dinners to build relationships with the families of our Forerunners

  • Connecting our Forerunner Families to local churches and like-minded non-profit organizations in the Dallas area that provide networks of relational and spiritual support.

  • Monthly events for Moms to provide community and support to single mothers
