North Texas Giving Day
What is North Texas Giving Day?
North Texas Giving Day (NTGD) is Community Foundations of Texas’ annual 18-hour online giving extravaganza for North Texas nonprofits that is powered by creative nonprofits, social media activism, area wide collaboration, and people like you.
The goal of NTGD is to help build awareness and support for nonprofits in the North Texas region.
Since 2009, NTGD has pumped more than $156 million, for over 2,500 local nonprofits, into our community. In 2016, $37 million was raised through more than 142,000 gifts benefiting 2,518 nonprofits.

What is the Goal of Forerunner Mentoring on North Texas Giving Day?
Last year, through 112 individual donors and 1 Dallas-based giving group, Forerunner Mentoring Program was able to raise $38,790 in one day. The incredible generosity of our community of supporters allowed Forerunner to start two new programs for our fatherless young men and improve our ministry to our single mothers.
This year, we have a goal to raise $60,000 to help us fulfill our 2017-2018 budget of $340,000 to help serve our Forerunner Families. We have come to the conclusion that taking advantage of matching funds is the best way to meet our goal.
It is our desire to find generous donors to contribute $30,000 on the front end of NTGD to encourage our community of supporters to provide the other $30,000. When people see that reputable people have already invested into our ministry, that only encourages them to give all the more.
In 2016, nonprofits who raised matching dollars raised 20% more funds overall than those who did not. We hope that we can use matching funds provided by our generous community to be the foundation of Forerunner Mentoring’s North Texas Giving Day!
